Heart Collar Brooch

So I'd been dying to get my hands on this baby for a while, ever since spotting it on Wishwishwish. At some stage I thought that the item had sold out and because I so desperately needed one, I thought of looking around for other collar brooches/sweater guards.  It arrived sometime last week, and I haven't yet had the chance to wear it.

Head over to Fairytales & Hidden Notes for more.

Much love. xx

Grandma's Garden

It feels like years since I've blogged, and I felt as though I'd be able to compensate for that by posting up some of the photos I took while at my Gran's house for Christmas dinner. These photos were taken prior to the dinner, with me roaming around the garden playing around with my new phone. My apologies that they aren't at all very Christmas-sy photos, I'll try harder next year! And although this is extremely belated, I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas nonetheless. xx

Scalloped Peter Pan Collar

The above images, as well as the tutorial are from Honestly WTF
I'd been obsessing over collars and thought I'd like to try to make my own one. When I stumbled upon the tutorial by Honestly WTF, I knew I had to head out to the nearest craft shop, purchase some felt and ribbon, and just sit down to make this. I just thought I'd like to share!! xx

The Big Red Car

My two year old brother loves The Wiggles as much as his milk. Toot Toot Chugga Chugga? (:
"Childhood, sweet and sunny childhood; With its careless, thoughtless air." - David Bates It's amazing how much you can learn from children - how they live each day one step at a time and can just enjoy every little aspect of it, whereas we (or maybe just me) take too much time worrying over what's to come tomorrow. xx

Block Heels

Image via Les Mads
Forever 21 Shoes, image via Kenza. I still need to find out where to get these shoes as Forever 21 has run out of stock. Boo!
Jeffrey Campbell's Lita via We Heart It, for more colours and designs you can also head to Sole Struck.
Sorry I haven't been posting much lately, just swinging in to say that I am still alive and currently busy trying to save up for shoes, as well as a whole lot of Christmas presents. Above are two pairs of shoes that I am absolutely in LOVE with - especially with their block heels. I also mentioned these shoes in a previous post - I haven't even got around to buying them (or at least, having enough money to buy them) yet. Indeed, I suck at saving up, so any good savings tips as the Christmas season is nearing? xx

PS: Does anyone know where else to get a similar pair of shoes to the Forever 21's? (:

Greener Pastures

It's been a while since I posted and I'm afraid it's going to have to stay that way for a while (much like the regularity of my family mowing the lawn) with my final year of schooling - the year I'd been dreading about - finally arriving.
As classmates dropped out of certain subjects, a teacher of mine kept repeating the phrase "Leaving for greener pastures..." and the line has been stuck in my head almost all week. I mean really, the final year of school is anything but a "better situation".
I truly hope that you are all in greener pastures than I am (and will be) in for the next year or so. xx

Flowers in Spring

Floral Tank Top - Valleygirl, Denim High - Waisted Shorts - Supre, White Knit Cardigan - (I can't remember), Beige Flats - Rubi Shoes, Bag - Vintage
So this is a really belated Spring post - a whole month has passed since the arrival of Spring - but the weather hadn't allowed me to wear shorts with it being too cold and all.
Anyhow, the cardigan, as pictured above was only recently found; it had belonged to me when I was four - when I had used it as a full-sized jacket. When my mother thought it had served its purpose, she packed it up and put it away in the garage. Only a few weks ago, when our family was spring-cleaning did I find the cardigan/jacket and immediately fell in love with it (...reunited at last - ahaha). xx

The Rug Skirt

Images and Instructions from A Pair and a Spare
So I absolutely fell in love with this DIY Rug skirt from A Pair and a Spare and really wanted to make my own. My opportunity came when I stumbled upon a similar set of rugs from the discount shop a few days ago and I was determined to produce a skirt from it.
Stay tuned. xx

DIY: Floppy Disk Penholder

So I had a lot of floppy disks lying around at home, and recently discovered a way of recycling them from Domestic Geek. Result - a floppy disk penholder.
You'll need: 5 old Floppy Discs, Scoubidous (or string/cable ties/etc.) and a whole lot of patience
Drill two holes, one on either side of the discs (there are already marked dents in the disc). Pick out your base (i.e. the disc you want to be the base of your pen holder) and drill two extra holes towards the top corners.
Lay the four discs out, tying them all together (once at the top, and once at the bottom) for each side.
*Note that the bottom corners already have these slots that you can slide down
Tie the "base" disc onto the bottom of one of the four discs. Then, bend the four "side" discs and tie them together (this is when you need patience) - after all this is done, tie the other corners of the base disc onto the corners of the side discs.
Add absolutely anything you want - and you are done!
My greatest apologies if the instructions are a bit confusing (...okay, maybe a lot), but you can head over to Instructables for a more detailed step-by-step guide. Good luck!! xx

Outside; When the Rain Falls

Today I'm stuck at home staring out the window at the grey sky listening to the pouring rain. Indeed, my life probably doesn't seem at all that interesting, but I guess I am one to be easily entertained (taking photos of the - very scarce - amount of plants that my family has in our backyard). The photos aren't that great, but i just thought I'd like to share them.

See you soon. xx

Jungle - Emma Louise

"My head is a jungle" - gosh I really love this song! I've been playing it on repeat all of today.

Catch y'all later. xx

Muted Out

Loose Waist Pants - Supre, Cropped Black Long Sleeve - Supre, Combat Boots - ROC, Black Bag - My Nonna's
Today I did almost nothing - sat at home, browsing e-shops for clothes (a pointless routine, since I am not even allowed to buy things online). However, I managed to go out to some shops for a while, to get an idea of what kind of dress I want for the upcoming social but most of the things that I liked:
1. Were sold out (this applies to the e-shops)
2. Were faulty - boo
3. Did not come in my size
4. Did not look good on me - yes, even the dummies looked better than I did
I sure hope I'm luckier in the next few days. xx

The Tilt-Shift Camera

Images, as well as the camera itself from Photojojo
Isn't this camera absolutely amazing? I love the effect it creates - seemingly "miniaturised" photos. Wait until I get my hands on these babies...

I'll keep dreaming. xx

Out and About

I haven't the slightest clue of what I was doing.
Chiffon Blouse - ChicabootiDenim Leggings (aka "Jeggings") - Supre, Black Suede Brogues - Wittner, Vintage Bag - my Nonna, Floppy 70s Style Hat - Dotti

Met up with two of my great friends today, we went shopping (my retail therapy after all the exams) and then went for a "catch up session" at the park. I pretty much shopped until I dropped (I'm currently owing people money). Boo.  It was a pretty sunny day on the most part, and it was great to see their faces again. Also, hoorah for my first ever outfit post!

Lovity love, xx

DIY: Popsicle Box

A simple lady-bug popsicle box I made.

So I know this is really simple, and so many people have done this before - I remember first making one in kinder for Father's Day - but I really wanted to make one again (talk about reliving out old memories).

So here's what you'll need:
A few popsicles, PVA Wood Glue, and whatever decoration you want.
And not really a tutorial, but here's a GIF (I was playing around):

Have fun, and see y'all very soon. xx

Floral Candle Jars

On Friday, I was able to buy a few items - all for just $12 - thrifted of course. Among these were two candle jars that costed me $3 in total, they're so awesome!!

Happy thrifting. xx

Just a Little Hello

Sorry I haven't been blogging for a while - I have exams coming up soon. However, I guess I'm free for at least two weeks after the exams are over so I'll probably be able to publish more posts. Promise.

See you all very soon! xx

An Oldie but a Goodie

My dearest grandmother "handed down" this awesome bag to me, along with a few others. The leather's cracked and some of the stitching has come undone, but, nonetheless I love it - if anything, it gives the bag more character.

Until next time. xx

Training

While waiting for the train to come I took some photos. There are also some I took on the train - I promise I didn't look the least bit like a tourist - honest!

You've got to love public transport. xx

Cute Hair Clips

These super-cute hair clips were made by a friend of mine - Jessica J.
Hopefully I'll be able to post up a tutorial for this adorable accessory soon, but until then, take care. xx

DIY: Decorated Jar

You'll need: A glass jar with lid, Scraps of paper, Clag Glue (reminds me of Kindy), Scissors, Pencil
Trace the lid onto your chosen paper and sketch another circle with a radius 2-3cm larger than the original circle. After pasting the design onto the lid, snip lines into the paper.
Glue and fold the looses of paper under the lid and leave to dry.
I used the leftover scraps of paper to cut out random words (to fill the jar for the time being)
 Good luck! xx
